Wash an trim broccoli. Cut the stem into 1” rounds.
Boil the stems for 10 minutes, add a cup of raw spinach for 20 seconds and drain.
Put in blender with capers, red pepper flakes, garlic, and butter, blend.
Boil broccoli florets for 3 minutes and drain
Make pasta and set aside
Add florets and sauce to pasta, stir well, grate Parmesan , add lemon zest if desired.
Puree the peeled broccoli stalks to develop a silky, smooth texture
Add the capers, red pepper flakes, garlic, and Parmesan cheese to the broccoli puree
