Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

  2. In a pan, melt butter over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes until light golden brown with a nutty aroma, then remove from heat and let cool completely

  3. In a bowl, mix all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside

  4. In a separate bowl, combine browned butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar and mix well

  5. Add vanilla bean paste and egg to the butter mixture and mix for 2-3 minutes until pale and smooth

  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet batter until just combined, being careful not to overmix

  7. Add chocolate chips and mix until just combined

  8. Scoop 4 cookies onto the prepared baking sheet with space between each cookie, and top with additional chocolate chips if desired

  9. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden and crispy at the edges with a gooey center

  10. Allow to cool completely before serving
