Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla.
Sift flour, soda and salt to-gether.
Add to banana mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add nuts and mix.
Pour batter into greased and floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Bake at 325° for 1 ¼ hours or until well done.
