Homemade Fried Mozzarella Patties With Marinara Sauce

  1. Begin by making the marinara sauce first, finely mince 2 cloves of garlic, then heat a small sauce pan with a medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin Spanish olive oil, once the oil get´s hot, add the minced garlics, mix with the oil and cook for about 30 seconds, then add 1 cup of tomato puree, ½ teaspoon on dried parsley, ½ teaspoon of dried oregano, ¼ teaspoon of white sugar, season with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, mix everything together and lower the fire to a LOW heat

  2. Add 1 cup of breadcrumbs to a bowl, season with a ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon of dried parsley and a ¼ teaspoon of sea salt and mix everything together

  3. Beat 2 organic eggs in a seperate bowl and add ½ cup of all-purpose flour to another bowl

  4. Grab 2 balls of fresh mozzarella and cut them into thin rounds that are about ⅛ of an inch in thickness

  5. Start coating each slice of mozzarella by dusting it in the flour first, then the egg and then the breadcrumbs, and then repeat the process for a double coating, do this with each slice of mozzarella

  6. Heat a non-stick frying pan with a medium-high heat and add a ¼ cup of sunflower oil

  7. Once the oil get´s hot, cook each slice of mozzarella, without over-crowding the pan, cook each slice between 20-25 seconds per side, making sure not to burn them, and transfer to plate with paper towels

  8. Add the marinara sauce to a bowl and place on a plate, then decorate the fried mozzarella patties around the sauce bowl
