Place water in medium saucepan over high heat until it comes to a boil.
Add all the remaining ingredients, stir well. Cover and reduce heat to low. (Note: If you use a wooden or plastic spoon, it may be stained forever from the turmeric.)
Cook about 12-16 minutes until the water has evaporated. Remove from heat.
While off the heat, keep covered for about 10 minutes more, then open and fluff with a fork.
