Creamy Potato Gratin
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.

  2. In a saucepan, heat cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half the cheese. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.

  4. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle Parmesan, and bake uncovered for another 15-20 minutes until golden.

  5. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
