Rice Cooker Tasty Rice

2 cups jasmine rice (rinsed)

2 cups water or chicken broth

2-3 Chinese sausages (lap cheung), sliced

2 boneless chicken thighs, chopped

4-5 shiitake mushrooms (fresh or rehydrated dried), sliced

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp dark soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp sugar

½ tsp white pepper

2 tsp cornstarch

Splash of water

Scallions, chopped

Sweet soy sauce (optional drizzle)

Rinse rice and add to your rice cooker with water or broth
In a bowl, mix chicken, sausage, and mushrooms with all marinade ingredients
Add the marinated mixture directly on top of the rice — do not mix
Close the lid and cook as you normally would. The meat cooks together with the rice
Once done, fluff everything together
Top with scallions and a drizzle of sweet soy sauce
