  1. Activate the yeast by dissolving it in warm water and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and softened butter.

  3. Pour the activated yeast mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.

  9. Starting from one short end, roll the dough tightly into a log.
