Weigh out ingredients in separate containers. All of the fats get weighed out first in one container.
Weigh the water and the glycerin together in another container.
Weigh the potassium hydroxide in a third container by itself.
Add the potassium hydroxide to water (not water to potassium hydroxide) and mix.
Add the potassium hydroxide solution to the fats in a slow cooker or an Instant Pot with a slow cooker setting.
Use a stick blender to mix until it reaches trace (instantly thickens up).
Cover with the slow cooker lid and stir every couple hours.
Keep on the slow cooker function until it turns into more of a paste (several hours).
Test if ready by taking a little glob and adding it to some hot distilled water and shaking it up well. The solution should be clear and not cloudy.
Pack into a glass mason jar for long-term storage.
