Pickled Onions The Balkan Way
  1. Pack the sliced onion into a clean jar (like an old pickle jar).

  2. In the jar, add the hot water, apple cider vinegar, sea salt, sumac, and maple syrup/honey.

  3. Close the lid loosely and let it sit at room temperature for 1 hour.

  4. Then tighten the lid and move it to the fridge. Ready to enjoy in 24 hrs, longer the better.
