In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, curry powder, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Place chickpeas in a food processor, pulse to roughly chop (don't overprocess or you’ll end up with chickpea purée).
In a large bowl, combine chopped chickpeas and mayo mixture.
Fold in pecans, raisins, celery and onions.
Season with salt.
Serve on whole-grain bread with lettuce or sprouts and onion, if desired.
