Teriyaki Steak Bites Recipe
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar or honey, garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  2. Place the steak bites in a ziplock bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the top. Let the steak marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours) in the refrigerator. This step is optional, but it will enhance the flavor.

  3. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  4. Remove the steak bites from the marinade (if you marinated them) and pat them dry with paper towels. Discard the remaining marinade.

  5. Add the steak bites to the hot skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook the steak in batches if needed.

  6. Sear the steak bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked to your desired doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C).

  7. In the last minute of cooking, add the butter to the skillet and let it melt, tossing the steak bites in the butter for extra flavor and richness.

  8. Transfer the cooked steak bites to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for a pop of freshness.
