Begin by preparing your favorite boxed cake mix, but instead of using a round cake pan, pour the batter into a 15×10-inch jelly roll pan or a 9×9-inch baking pan.
Allow the cake to cool completely.
Once the cake has cooled, gather several circular containers to cut out the cake portions. You can use ceramic ramekins, small glass Mason jars, or even disposable plastic cups for this.
Press the container into the cake as if you were cutting out cookies, but keep the cake inside the jar.
Continue this process until all of your jars are filled with cake.
Spread a thin layer of store-bought or homemade vanilla buttercream on top of each cake.
Pour some rainbow nonpareils onto a plate.
Dip each jar into the plate so that the sprinkles fully coat the frosting.
Once all the cakes are adorned with nonpareils, they are ready to enjoy!
