Small Batch Garlic Knots
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Combine yeast and sugar with ½ cup warm water. Cover and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy and proofed.

  3. In a stand mixer or bowl, combine flour, olive oil and yeast mixture. Knead until dough is soft and slightly tacky, about 5 minutes.

  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover and let rise until doubled, 30-60 minutes.

  5. Punch down dough and place on a lightly floured surface. Divide into 6 even pieces. Roll each piece into a log and form into a knot, tucking ends underneath.

  6. Place knots on a greased or parchment lined baking sheet, cover and let rise until doubled.

  7. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic and Italian seasoning.

  8. Brush knots with half the butter/garlic mixture.

  9. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

  10. Brush knots with remaining butter/garlic mixture.

  11. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
