Add all of the ingredients to the slow cooker.
Dissolve the stockpot and just 1 tbs of the gravy granules in 300ml of boiling water - you add more gravy granules to thicken, at the end of cooking.
Give everything a good stir to mix together.
Pop the lid on the slow cooker and set it to LOW for 7 to 8 hours, or High for 4 to 6 hours, but please check your slow cooker instructions.
When it's cooked nicely, remove the bay leaf and discard.
Now turn the slow cooker to HIGH and stir in about 2-3 tablespoons of gravy granules but do this a little at the time, so you don't end up with gravy lumps.
Leave the lid off and let it thicken for a few minutes and add more gravy granules if you think you need to.
Have a taste and check the seasoning; then that's it you're all done!
