Preheat oven to 180C Fan
Begin by melting the butter. Once melted, set aside and allow to cool
Combine all the ingredients for the apple filling in a medium saucepan and place over a medium-heat. Cook for approximately 10mins or so until the apples are slightly softened
Transfer the cooked apples into a baking dish and allow to cool
To make the topping, combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Add the melted butter and vanilla into the dry ingredients and give it a stir
Add the golden syrup to the mixing and mix until combined, then evenly spread this over the apples
Bake in the oven for 30 to 40mins until nice and golden
Once baked, allow to cool. The topping will harden as it cools
Serve with custard or ice cream. Enjoy!
