Oven-baked Mediterranean Cabbage Burgers
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the cabbage rounds on the sheet. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Roast the cabbage slices alone for 10–12 minutes.

  3. While the cabbage roasts, combine the ground meat, grated onion, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Form into thin patties that match the diameter of your cabbage rounds.

  4. Remove the cabbage from the oven. Place one raw meat patty directly on top of each cabbage round.

  5. Return to the oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked through (71 ∘ C or 160 ∘ F internal temperature).

  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the meat patties during the last 2–3 minutes of baking until bubbly and golden.

  7. Lift the cabbage and burger together with a spatula. Top with fresh tomato slices or your favorite burger condiments.
