In advance
Slice onions and garlic
Cook in butter until softened
Add mustard, garlic powder, and chili flakes to taste
Brown sugar
Keep some onions separate as a topping
For the rest-
Add beer
Marinate raw brats in bag...or very slight par cook ½
At site
Lay out condiments with utensils for each
Medium hot fire
Lightly toasted bun
Grill brats (2-4 minutes?)
Inner temp should be 160
Immerse brats in simmering marinade
Grill brats again until browned
Beer Brats
2 cans beer, or enough to submerge (mix lager and IPA)
14 brats
tbsp brown sugar
Fresh garlic ~6 cloves
~1.5 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 yellow onions cut into rings
⅛ cup yellow mustard
⅛ cup whole grain mustard
2 tsp red chili flakes
1 tsp salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
Couple nobs of butter
Boil to ~145 degrees internal
Then grill/fry
