Better-for-you Sesame Chicken
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken, egg, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, arrowroot starch, and rice flour. Mix until all chicken pieces are coated.

  3. Arrange chicken in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure pieces aren’t touching.

  4. Bake for 15 minutes, flip, then bake for another 15 minutes until golden and crispy.

  5. While the chicken finishes cooking, heat sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.

  6. Stir in honey, ketchup, coconut aminos, sriracha, and rice vinegar.

  7. Mix arrowroot starch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Make sure it’s fully dissolved. Pour into the sauce and stir until thickened.

  8. Toss cooked chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.

  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions and serve with cauliflower fried rice!
