In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped scallions and garlic, cooking for about 5 minutes.
Stir in the salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, and continue to cook for another 3 minutes.
Incorporate the remaining ingredients, except for the swiss chard, and mix well.
Using a potato masher or jar, partially mash about a quarter of the beans.
Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent boiling.
Reduce the heat to low and gently fold in the chopped swiss chard.
Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy with some toasty bread if desired.
