Let the salmon come to room temp.
Pat the salmon dry, especially the skin then score the salmon skin.
Season both sides with salt, pepper & paprika. Rubbing into the slits!
Heat skillet over med heat. Then add the oil (after the pan is hot).
Add salmon, skin side down, press down with a spatula. Cook for 2 mins, flip & cook for another 2 mins.
Flip again, reduce the heat to low & add butter, garlic & thyme. Baste for 4 mins.
Zest with lemon zest, juice & parsley.
