Nye Cocktail: Rosemary Sparkler
  1. Make the simple syrup by combining equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium low heat

  2. Let simmer until sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat

  3. Add 3 sprigs of rosemary to the syrup

  4. Place the lid on and let steep for at least 30 minutes

  5. Remove the rosemary sprigs and let cool

  6. Pour simple syrup into an airtight container and refrigerate (can be made several days ahead)

  7. Rim your cocktail glass with a lemon wedge, granulated sugar and edible glitter if using

  8. In a cocktail shaker, pour in vodka or gin, simple syrup and lemon juice

  9. Add ice and shake well

  10. Pour into prepared glass and top with sparkling wine

  11. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and serve
