Chocolate Cake

(One-Bowl Recipe) *** please note that this makes 1 - 12x18 cake or 2 - 9x13 cakes *** make one and freeze one for next week.

Ingredients

• 6 large eggs

• 3 tsp vanilla

• 2¼ cups oil

• 3¾ cups sugar

• Pinch of salt

• 4½ cups flour

• 1½ cups cocoa powder

• 3¾ tsp baking soda

• ¾ tsp baking powder

• 3 cups water

    Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl.

  3. Mix until the batter is completely smooth and no dry spots remain, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

  4. Pour the batter into greased cake pan.

  5. Bake for 50 - 60 minutes or until the center springs back lightly when touched and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Let cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then remove and cool completely.

Yield: Large batch — enough for 2 large layer cakes or 2 standard 9×13-inch cake.
