Preheat the oven to 200°c and line two baking trays with baking paper.
In a bowl add the flour and salt and rub the butter into the mixture until you have fine breadcrumbs.
Add the maple syrup and water and bring together into a smooth dough. If you find you mix too dry add more water a little at a time.
Roll as thin as possible, I rolled mine to 1.5mm.
Use 4.5cm fluted cutter to cut out rounds and add 7 holes on top using a cocktail stick.
Brush over a small amount of vegetable oil and add a sprinkle of salt on top and bake for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes remove from the oven and brush over the beaten egg.
Bake for a further 5 minutes until golden.
Leave to cool completely before enjoying or serving with ham and cheese to make Lunchables!
