Crush the Crackers: If not using pre-made crumbs, place whole graham crackers in a sealed bag and crush them with a rolling pin or pulse in a food processor until fine.
Mix: In a medium bowl, combine the crumbs, sugar, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture resembles wet sand and holds together when pinched.
Press: Pour the mixture into a 9-inch pie plate. Use the bottom of a flat measuring cup or glass to press the crumbs firmly and evenly into the bottom and up the sides of the plate.
Pre-bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
Cool: Let the crust cool completely on a wire rack before adding the filling. For a firmer crust, you can chill it in the freezer for 10 minutes before filling.
