Make the bread batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together sourdough discard, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
Gently fold in chopped strawberries.
Bake:
Make the glaze/syrup:
Combine strawberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
Simmer over medium heat 5–8 minutes until strawberries break down and syrup thickens slightly.
Strain if you want a smooth glaze, or leave chunky for texture.
