  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.

  2. In a small bowl, toss the chicken with cornstarch, salt and pepper, coating evenly.

  3. Spray Air Fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.

  4. Place chicken in basket, separate the pieces so they cook all the way around.

  5. Air fry for 10 minutes, tossing the basket once at 5 minutes to flip the chicken over.

  6. Add all the sauce ingredients to a small, heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat.

  7. Whisk until brown sugar dissolves.

  8. Bring to a rapid boil.

  9. Reduce heat, simmer about 5 minutes until sauce has thickened.

  10. Pour the sauce over the air fried chicken and coat evenly.

  11. Serve over white or brown rice.
