Ryans Mom’s Peach Cobbler
  1. Heat oven to 375°F. Butter a 2-qt. baking dish. Peel peaches and slice. Toss peaches with 1 cup of the sugar, the lemon juice, nutmeg and 3 Tbsp of the flour. Put in the baking dish. Combine remaining 1¼ cups flour, 1 Tbsp sugar, the baking powder, soda and salt.

    Cut in the shortening/butter.

  2. Stir in the buttermilk and mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. Drop by spoonfuls over the peaches. Bake until top is golden brown and fruit is soft and bubbling, about 30-40 minutes.
