Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish with parchment paper.
Cream together softened butter and sugar together with a hand mixer.
Add in one egg at a time, beating well.
Add in vanilla and red food coloring, mixing until batter is a deep red color.
In a separate bowl, whisk together dry ingredients.
Fold dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Do not over mix.
Pour into prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 min until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow brownies to cool completely in pan.
While brownies bake, make the cream cheese frosting.
For the frosting, cream together softened cream cheese and butter.
Slowly incorporate the powdered sugar until fluffy.
Add in vanilla and mix well.
Once brownies are completely cool, you can spread icing on top of brownies, cut and serve.
You can also use a cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes and pipe icing on hearts by using a piping bag or ziplock bag with the tip cut out.
Store frosted brownies in fridge.
