  1. Rub the butter into the flour and salt until it resembles breadcrumbs.

  2. Stir in the sugar and raisins/glacé cherries.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla extract and milk.

  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix to form a soft dough.

  5. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a baking tray.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
