Creamy Baked Custard Pudding
  1. Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F).

  2. In a bowl, whisk egg + sugar until smooth.

  3. Add milk, melted butter, vanilla, salt, and whisk well.

  4. Whisk in flour (if using) until no lumps remain.

  5. Stir in any optional fruit.

  6. Pour mixture into a greased ramekin.

  7. Place ramekin on a baking tray.

  8. (Optional: add hot water to the tray halfway up the ramekin for extra-smooth custard.)

  9. Bake 30–35 minutes until puffed, golden on top, and just set in the center.

  10. Cool 5–10 minutes before serving.
