Apple Fritter Loaf
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x5 loaf pan really well.

  2. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set it aside—this is your swirl magic.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and white sugar until it's light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Add it to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until everything is just combined. Gently fold in the chopped apples.

  5. Pour half the batter into your loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it. Add the rest of the batter, then swirl the remaining cinnamon sugar on top with a knife—don't overthink it, messy swirls bake beautifully.

  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean and the top is deeply golden.

  7. Let it cool for about 15 minutes, then whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle it generously over the top while the bread is still warm.

  8. Slice it thick. Serve it with coffee. Watch it disappear.
