Add the ground beef and sausage to a large pot and cook until browned, breaking up into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon.
Add the onion, celery and garlic and cabbage to the pot and cook for 4 minutes.
Add all the other ingredients except for the fresh herbs and give it a good stir.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes partially covered.
Remove from heat and stir in the herbs.
Serve over rice
