Set the masa aside and let it hydrate until it has a moist dough-like consistency.
Add a splash of milk to the cheese to create a smooth cheese paste.
With wet hands, take a ball of masa and gently flatten it.
Place a generous scoop of the mozzarella cheese mixture in the center of the masa.
Carefully fold the edges of the masa around the cheese to completely enclose it.
Flatten the masa ball into a patty shape.
Heat a pan and fry the patty until it is golden brown on both sides.
