Combine warm water and yeast in a large mixing bowl. Stir in melted butter, salt, sugar, egg, and flour. Mix until combined, then knead 10 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 40 minutes.
Punch down, shape into rolls, and place on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise until doubled again, about 30 minutes.
Bake at 350°F for 22–25 minutes, until golden brown.
