Homemade Flour Tortillas
  1. In a bowl add 550 grams of all purpose flour with 2 tsp of salt, ⅓ cup avocado oil or melted butter

  2. Using a stand mixer with the dough whisk start mixing on low while adding 1 ½ cups hot water. Turn up the speed to medium low until the dough is well combined. Then turn down the speed to low and mix 7 minutes. You can also knead by hand.

  3. With a scale equally divide your dough in 12 parts and shape into a ball. Add them back into the bowl, cover and let them sit for 20 minutes before shaping.

  4. Dip your dough in a bowl of flour to help with sticking. Start rolling your tortilla out until you get your desired shape. If dough sticks to rolling pin sprinkle more flour to prevent sticking.

  5. Using a cast iron on medium low heat to cook tortilla until it puffs up. Lightly cook so you can easily reheat them later.
