Place sugar, shortening and salt in a large bowl.
Add scalded milk and stir to soften crisco.
Cool.
Beat in eggs.
Soften yeast in warm water, and stir into shortening mixture.
Add four cups of flour.
Beat until smooth.
Add enough of the remaining flour to form a soft ball.
Turn onto floured surface, and knead until smooth, approximately 8-10 minutes.
Let rise until double.
Punch down.
Shape and place in greased pans and let rise a second time until double in size.
Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes or until done.
If top browns too fast cover with aluminum foil last 15 minutes.
