Saute onions untill caramelized & jammy.
Boil potatoes & apples untill fully softened. Strain & fines mash with most of butter (5-7 tablespoons).
Melt any remaining butter
Scoop potato apple mash into bowls, scoop caramelized onions on top. Top with melted butter.Serve as a side dish. Great with bratwurst.
