Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan
Line a 2lb loaf tin with greaseproof paper
Melt treacle and butter in the microwave
Mix wholemeal flour, porridge oats, bread soda, plain flour, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl
Mix Guinness, buttermilk, treacle, and butter together and add to dry ingredients
Spoon into prepared tin, sprinkle porridge oats on top and bake for 50 minutes
Remove from tin and cool on a wire rack
Heat oil in a saucepan and add leeks with a pinch of salt
Cook leeks, stirring frequently, until soft (about 5 minutes)
Stir in paprika and cook for 1 minute
Add white wine and simmer until almost completely evaporated
Stir in flour and cook for another minute
Add vegetable stock, water, potatoes, and thyme
Simmer until potatoes are tender (about 20 minutes)
Add milk and bring to a simmer
Add fish and peas and cook for 4-5 minutes
Finish with cream and adjust seasoning if necessary
