Lyle’s Golden Syrup Cake
  1. Preheat the fan-assisted oven to 140C and line a 900g loaf tin

  2. Melt butter , sugars and golden syrup over a medium heat. Once melted set aside for 10min

  3. Sift self-raising flour into a mixing bowl

  4. Beat egg and milk together then add to the flour

  5. Pour in the syrup mixture. Beat until the mixture is lump free.

  6. Pour batter into loaf tin. Bake in 140C fan-assisted oven for 1h or until golden on too and stick comes out clean

  7. Allow to cool in the tin for 10min

  8. Poke holes in the cake and drizzle golden syrup over the top and brush this across. allow to cool fully in tin
