Preheat oven to 350°F and line or grease a muffin pan.
Add the pumpkin, eggs, sugar, olive oil, vanilla, and maple syrup to a blender. Pulse until smooth.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Pour the batter from the blender into the bowl with the dry ingredients while whisking. Whisk them together until smooth and no streaks remain.
Fold in ½ cup chocolate chips.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin pan and top with the remaining chocolate chips.
Bake for 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the muffins comes out clean. Enjoy for breakfast or dessert!
