Mary Berry Rhubarb Crumble
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. In a medium-sized baking dish, combine the rhubarb pieces with granulated sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  3. Place the dish in the preheated oven and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the rhubarb is just starting to soften.

  4. In a large bowl, sift the flour. Add the chilled, diced butter and rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

  5. Stir in the brown sugar to the flour and butter mixture.

  6. Remove the rhubarb from the oven and sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the top.

  7. Place the baking dish back in the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crisp.

  8. Let the crumble cool slightly before serving.
