Smothered Pork Chops
  1. In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

  2. Season both sides of the pork chops with the mixture.

  3. Lightly dredge each chop in flour, shaking off excess (season flour).

  4. Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  5. Sear the pork chops for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.

  6. Remove and set aside (they don't need to be fully cooked yet). Only have 2 to 3 tbls of oil in the skillet, then add sliced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft.

  7. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of the leftover dredging flour and stir to combine.

  8. Slowly pour in chicken broth while stirring to avoid lumps.

  9. Add Worcestershire sauce, and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  10. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spoon some gravy over the top, reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15 minutes, or until pork is tender and the rest is history!
