Cheesy Italian Ground Beef Marinara Bowtie Casserole
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta until just al dente. Drain and set aside.

  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion, cooking until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 more minute.

  4. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.

  5. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, beef marinara mixture, ricotta (if using), and 1 cup of mozzarella. Stir until everything is coated and combined.

  6. Spread the mixture into the baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.

  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with basil or parsley if you'd like.
