Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and gravy mix until smooth.
Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
Add the butter on top.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender.
Remove the chicken and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir it into the gravy.
Let it cook for another 10–15 minutes so the flavors combine.
Serve warm, spooned over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
