Chinese Beef Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is softened and fragrant.

  3. Stir in the mushrooms, broccoli, and bell peppers. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetable mixture, stirring to combine.

  5. Spread the cooked rice or cooked chow mein noodles evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour the beef and vegetable mixture over the top, spreading it out evenly. If desired, sprinkle the crispy chow mein noodles or crushed potato chips on top for added crunch.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the topping is golden and crispy.

  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
