Ham and Bean Soup

  1. Soak beans for 8 hours in 8 cups of water

  2. Boil beans for 2 hours in 8 cups of water

  3. Add onion, ham (or bacon), tomatoes, chili powder, and garlic. Let simmer for 30 minutes

  4. Add flavor packet that comes with beans, simmer for one more minute and serve
