"Stewed" Watermelon

  2. Make a plug in a medium-sized watermelon and pour the marinade into the hole. Replace plug and seal with toothpicks. Stand plug-side up in chopped ice. Chill for at least 2 hours. When ready to serve, cut into wedges and serve in soup bowls.

  3. Dry champagne may be substituted for rum, for an even more elegant dessert.
