Preheat oven to 350℉
Make sure butter is very cold. Soften butter in mixer
Add sugar, salt and vanilla. Mix until smooth only
Add egg, blend in. Add flour, mix until dough is stiff and waxy
Refrigerate dough until firm
Roll out dough between two pieces of wax paper
Using cookie cutter, cut out desired shapes. Place shapes onto a parchment lined cookie sheet
Bake at 350℉ for approximately 13 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet
Prepare colored dipping icing found on page 277
Once cooled, place cookies on a wire rack. Pour warm dipping icing over the entire cookie. Allow to cool. Decorate as desired
