Martha-stewart-fired-me Chocolate Chip Cookies
  1. Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar for 3 minutes, until the mixture is nice and fluffy.

  2. Add both eggs and the vanilla and beat for an additional 2 minutes .

  3. Combine baking soda, baking powder, salt, and flour.

  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until cookie dough forms.

  5. Mix in chocolate chips/chunks.

  6. Chill dough for up to 48 hours (see notes).

  7. Preheat oven to 360 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  8. Scoop cookie dough using a 2 Tbsp. scoop, 6-8 cookies per sheet.

  9. Sprinkle a small amount of flaky sea salt over each cookie dough ball.

  10. Bake for 10-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the center is still light and puffy.

  11. Slam the baking sheet against the counter to flatten the cookies out a bit (see notes).

  12. Add another sprinkle of sea salt, and allow the cookies to stay on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
